Just get a harbor freight lpw projack. if aluminum, lock tight the bolts for the front roller. if steel, expect to replace the rubber o-ring for the oil resivor. Aide note the steel one is lower. And raises higher.

You want something that can handle the total weight of the vehicle. 3 ton car needs a 3 ton jack. Minimum. Bigger is better. I would go for 4 or 5 ton. Bottle jacks are your friend with larger vehicles.

Assuming a 1500, curb weight ranges from 3900 to 4200 lbs, depending on the model, about 60% of which (call it 2500 lbs) is at the front. WEBJack stands are rated as pairs; two 2-ton stands can carry 2 tons total. Most cars don't have 50:50 weight distribution so I certainly wouldn't use anything less sturdy than four 2-ton stands. The 3-ton stands are usually only a couple bucks more, and I'd just get those for peace of mind, but if you already have the 2s you'll be fine.

Mine is an old mini-van that I’m probably replacing with a sedan within a year, so I’ll keep the jack for that. But can it support a Buick Enclave? I’m just talking spare tire changes and rare oil jobs.

WEBJul 19, 2022 · TheNerdNamedChuck. •. well on the bright side, the jack can be used in the event of a flat. simply jack up the car to the normal height, and drive off! you've even got 4 wheels replacing the one flat, so it's even safer! since they have 2 jacks, this can be done for 2 wheels. just hope they're not the front ones.

I could probably get away with 1.5T and use a thick wood block but I would have to use that wood block constantly when working on a small SUV (which most cars are now). The 2 Ton aluminum is "just right", I'm basically paying more for convenience for its lift height.
