As far as the Harbor Freight. grinders go they work well and will meet anybody's need, but they are made cheap so do not expect that they can compare to a grinder costing many time more.

What I'm interested in is that it has a 1/8" thickness wheel on it (my chain is a Stihl .325 .050 RS) and the chain is ment to us a 5/32" round file to sharpen it. I also know 1/8" = .125 and 5/32" = .156.

Inside the saw (It's a clamshell design) there is a 59 tooth plastic gear, tan in color, that is stripped. Harbor Freight doesn't have the part. Harbor calls it part 30, large gear and bearing.

WEBMay 18, 2013 · Welcome to A.S. Jerry! Different chains may have different recommended angles - it can make you nuts. The bottom line is that the exact angles are not as important as getting both edges (top and side) on every cutter sharp, and getting every cutter on a loop the same. 30 degrees is a good starting point for the the 'top plate angle' - the angle you see when you look down on the chain from above.

WEBJun 9, 2010 · Omaha, Nebraska. Nov 17, 2010. #11. Rebuilt The HF Grinder. I was able to rebuild the cheap Harbor Freight grinder and can now use it to handle the rakers (depth gauges). I use the 511a to sharpen the cutters and the little HF monster to take down the rakers. It seems to work well enough for that.

WEBEast TN. Jan 12, 2011. #5. Dont know about the harbor freight, but edge and engine sells the fast tach they are 85.00. Baileys sells the sendec 5000 and I think theyre about 70.00. Both are wireless, the fast tach has replaceable batteries, the sendec dont but they probably last for a long time. I just ordered a fast tach.

WEBJun 22, 2007 · You might think me a fool but I needed a chainsaw to run indoors and I didnt want to pay a lot. 45 dollars (with a coupon) wasnt that much of a risk so I went and got one from harbor freight.I have to say I am impressed, for the money it works far better than I could hope. Came with an oregon 14" bar and chain.
