Next a 6" stove should really have a 6" chimney it may work ok on 8 but may be dissapointing.

If it a normal, good shape (inspected) terracotta lined chimney you can use a flexible stainless steel liner with insulation wrap. Those can be had for, depending on length, 550 bux from chimney liner depot. The insulation helps with draft and for fire protection.

Try to keep the surface flue temps between 250 and 400 during the peak of the burn cycle. Once the fire is at the coal only stage it's ok if the temps drift lower. The fire is past the creosote producing stage.

I used Simpson pellet pipe to the existing thimble. Really don't know why I didn't use three inch stove pipe but I had the pellet pipe already.
