Hello travellers, My cousin and I are staying in Alfama in June, it’s our first time in Lisbon so I’m hoping we made the right decision on the district to stay in. We hope to be able to visit all the districts with ease from this location. Is it easy to get around? I’d love a beach visit too and is it Easy to get from the airport? Sorry loads of questions. I just left and wouldn’t recommend alfama to stay it is up high on the hill , very old area. We stayed right in the city center a few blocks from rossio square e you can walk to everything.

You have multi size restaurants in the area. In old town you will find many places that have outdoor seating on Rue Augusta and most of the seating is covered with umbrellas. The food choices are really good and the cost is very fair and not over priced. If you get creative you can find some little food locations in the surrounding neighborhoods. Enjoy!
