We are going to Oman in October 2018. Arriving on 15 October 8 am and leaving 20 October at 9am for Dubai. We would like to concentrate more on nature than culture but we would like to do some of the best cultural experiences like the Mosque etc. Is it best to do it on your own or with a tour guide? Can you please recommend a tour plan and accommodation accordingly?

Own your own vs a tour guide - i think it's up to you just regarding your preference. I believe you would be fine on your own as long as you are comfortable driving in a forgien country and if you are focusing more on nature, using 4x4 vehicles on dirt roads, especially if you are planning on going to Jebel Shams (which i would strongly recommend). However I enjoy being able to not think too much on vacation and I was solo so I went with a tour guide. I used NTT and Said was very good. They can pack the most into the limited time you have. If you are focused more on nature I'd also recommend the Wahiba Sands and some wadi's. 1 fort is enough IMO. I'd pick Nizwa if possible, more touristy but you will get more out of it and there is more stuff around it. Hope this helps. Cheers!
