Not the experience I was expecting. Not many ponies nor horses in the island. Plus we saw there few ponies in the free area before paying. Then once we were in the park (and paid $25) we only saw may… Full review by timsheries

Hello, what are the night time temps like on the ocean side of Assateague. We'll be visiting during the first week of October and staying in a tent and we're wondering how cold it could get. Thanks!

I have not camped there but I have been out late with a fire etc. I would say it could go either way. It seems like one day it can be 75 and the next 50. There have been halloweens where the kids needed to wear a full winter coat and like last year, it was balmy and for me, even a sweatshirt was too warm. At night on the water though, there would be a breeze/wind and I would imagine it could get quite chilly (as low as 40's but as high as 60's or 70's). The best bet would be to check the weather a week or 2 ahead of time, sorry I can't be more specific, but the weather can be crazy!
Hey got guys in thinking about going camping(in a tent) this coming April or May plus go fishing for rockfish. I've never been on this side. I would love to camp right on the ocean if possible. I could use all the tips, pointers, ideas ect that you got Thanks

Make your reservations asap. Bring bug spray- flies and mosquitoes are ferocious depending on wind directions. Be sure to keep coolers and loose food in your vehicle - horses will destroy a tent to get at food. If you can't get a tent site, rent a room nearby and drive into the state or national park but do so early! The OSV is fun. You air down your vehicle and drive on. Research what you need to do so safely and legally.
