The Mavericks ' stunning jump to win the NBA Draft Lottery despite entering with only a 1.8% chance to do so was the story of the night, but the Jazz, Wizards and Hornets falling proved to be a major subplot in arguably the most dramatic lottery ever.

The San Antonio Spurs, as they prepared for the NBA offseason, knew that anything was possible, although they certainly had realistic expectations. Entering Monday's NBA Draft Lottery, the Spurs were expected to pick 14th and eighth.

Arizona forward Carter Bryant will remain in the NBA draft, where he could be a lottery pick. Bryant told ESPN he’s “completely in” on the draft process following workouts at the NBA draft combine.

Flagg participated fully in Day 1 of the combine and displayed the physical attributes that make him a standout prospect.

ESPN's Chris "Mad Dog" Russo isn't among those who think that the NBA Draft Lottery is rigged. He also likes the idea of holding a lottery so that teams compete in a tanking match and try to lose every game possible just to get the draft's top pick.

There are two rounds in the draft. The first round features 30 picks and the second round has 29. There are typically 30 picks per round, but the New York Knicks were docked their 2025 second-rounder after the league found they had tampered with Jalen Brunson leading up to 2022 free agency.

McCain was the Sixers' first-round draft pick last season, and quickly blossomed into an early NBA Rookie of the Year frontrunner before tearing his meniscus.
