Bayern Munich’s interest in PSG's Bradley Barcola had started quietly, but it picked up pace in recent weeks as the German club intensified its search for a left-winger. With targets slipping through, the 22-year-old French talent shot to the top of their list.

Arsenal are among a host of teams to be admirers of Barcola, but they will all be given short shrift in the transfer window. Barcola, who has another three years left on his current contract at the Parc des Princes and would therefore command a huge transfer fee, is going nowhere.
