The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) says it has filed an unfair labour practices complaint against Canada Post, accusing the Crown corporation of launching an “assault” by laying off workers during the ongoing strike.

The union representing Canada Post workers has filed an unfair labour practice complaint with the Canada Industrial Relations Board over the layoffs of striking employees.

Canada Post has also been crushed by the boom in Canadians using other low-cost delivery services. In terms of e-commerce, Canada Post’s market share has dropped to 29 per cent from 62 per cent in 2019.
