We're now halfway through the regular season, and you can probably guess where Penn State falls on our list. Conversely, there have been some nice surprises in the opening seven weeks.

Ohio State was the only team to hold its spot, remaining No. 1 for an eighth straight week after shutting out Wisconsin 34-0 on the road. Beyond the Buckeyes, significant revision was required with four top-10 teams losing in the same week for a third time this season.

The unofficial midway point of the 2025 college football season begins on Saturday with plenty of intriguing matchups in Week 8. Twenty-three of the teams ranked in the latest AP Top 25 poll will be in action this weekend, including five ranked-on-ranked matchups.
