Emmitt Finnie scored the first two goals of his NHL career and added an assist as the host Detroit Red Wings stretched their winning streak to five games with a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday afternoon.

Earning his second consecutive win in as many starts for the Red Wings (5-1-0; 10 points) was netminder John Gibson, who had 16 saves. Goalie Stuart Skinner made 20 saves for the Oilers (2-3-1; 5 points), who dropped their third game in a row.

DETROIT – Emmitt Finnie lined up for the opening faceoff Sunday opposite a pair of Hall-of-Famers and then proceeded to show why the Detroit Red Wings kept the 20-year-old former seventh-round draft pick on their season-opening roster.

Veteran forward Patrick Kane will not suit up for the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday against the visiting Edmonton Oilers due to an upper-body injury. Kane, who turns 37 next month, did not practice Saturday after crashing into the boards the previous night in Detroit's 2-1 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
