The resurgent Red Bull racer has won three out of the last four Grand Prix, and now sits just 40 points behind Oscar Piastri in the standings, with Lando Norris also gaining in second.
Verstappen also is closing fast with his late-season charge. Verstappen now trails Piastri by 40 points, and Norris by 26, in third place, and has put the McClarens on notice he intends to chase them all the way to the end of the season.
For the 2025 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, McClure is high on Norris, who is seeking his first season championship. He finished second overall a year ago with 374 points. He has five wins on the season, taking the season opener in March in Australia.
