A West Morgan High School football player fell to the ground during Friday’s game and was rushed to the hospital.

A high school football coach in eastern Iowa has resigned, hoping it would force the school to cancel the football season amid injuries and low turnout.

"I heard the initial pop, and I was just, is it gonna be anymore? Is it gonna be any more pops? Do you run? Do you get down? It’s something you shouldn’t experience at a high school football game."
