CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Two members of the Iowa National Guard were killed in what’s being called a terrorist attack in Syria. A lone ISIS gunman ambushed U.S. troops in central Syria, killing two soldiers and a civilian and wounding three other soldiers. The gunman was killed in the attack.

The Iowa Air Show: Fields of Thunder is headed to the Iowa National Guard Des Moines Airbase May 8-9, 2027. The show will feature a live demonstration by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. The weekend event will include aerial performances, aircraft displays and activities for families.
