The Jennings Creek fire is expected to be fully contained by the end of the weekend, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation. The fire near the New York-Jersey border is holding at 90% contained and 80% controlled.

Officials: Jennings Creek wildfire now 100% contained
The massive Jennings Creek wildfire is now 100% contained after more than a week of fierce firefighting. The fire started earlier this month in Passaic County, New Jersey before jumping across the border into New York. It forced people to leave their homes voluntarily and burned thousands of acres of land.
