Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Tuesday he had a “good call” with President-elect Trump following the incoming U.S. leader’s pronouncement that he would impose a 25 percent tariff on Canadian goods when he takes office.

Mexico said it would slap tit-for-tat tariffs on the US, while China said Trump's finger-pointing "runs completely counter to facts".

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday said Canada must stay united against a threat by Donald Trump to impose tariffs but two major provinces quickly called on him to address the U.S. President-elect's concerns.
