Marvel Studios recently took Mahershala Ali’s long-delayed “Blade” movie off its release calendar, but studio president Kevin Feige is telling fans not to worry about whether or not the iconic vampire hunter will find his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Blade MCU release date delay had some fans worried the project would be canceled, and Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige addressed those concerns.

Feige emphasized that Marvel is prioritizing quality over speed, stating, “The most important thing for us is not rushing it and making sure we are making the right Blade movie.”

The MCU appears to be actively trying to move past the multiversal chaos of Phases 4 and 5, as evidenced by its upcoming slate of projects. Following the announcement of Robert Downey Jr.’s return, Marvel fans are arguably most excited for the much-awaited arrival of the Avengers sequels.

Now, studio head Kevin Feige is dropping hints as to when the characters might truly receive the spotlight in upcoming Marvel films. Since 2019's Avengers: Endgame, there have been numerous references and cameos to the X-Men that have been sprinkled across major MCU entries.

The Mahershala Ali-led reboot was scheduled for a Nov. 7, 2025 theatrical release before it was removed from Marvel's calendar.

Blade might be off the theatrical calendar, but Marvel Studios Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige has exclaimed that the studio is “committed” to the project. The reboot of the Wesley Snipes franchise was announced at Comic-Con 2019 with Oscar winner Mahershala Ali in the title role.
