If Major League Baseball undergoes radical realignment and puts the Yankees and Mets in the same division down the road, their fans will have to “relearn who to love and who to hate” in terms of opposing teams.

Giancarlo Stanton keeps on climbing. The New York Yankees' slugger has moved up another spot on the MLB all-time home run leaderboard. When he hit his second homer of the night Tuesday, Stanton passed Dave Kingman to move into 43rd place in major league history.

Vientos answered that call by blasting a home run in a second straight game. Vientos hit a two-run homer against Jake Irvin in the third inning that gave the Mets a 5-0 lead. Vientos, who started as the DH, provided a jolt to the team on Sunday with his three-run homer in Williamsport, Pa., that led a victory over the Mariners.

Going into Thursday, the Mets had seen a whopping 33.1% increase in attendance from 2024, when they drew an average of 29,484, which was 17th in MLB. Mets owner Steve Cohen said in spring training that last season’s attendance numbers “bothered” him.
