Centre has tasked Rajnath Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Kiren Rijiju to talk to Oppn on ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, it is learnt; bill on simultaneous polls likely in Winter Session.

He hailed the decision as a significant step toward strengthening democracy and promoting political stability.

The Modi government aims to implement the ’One Nation, One Election’ proposal, requiring constitutional amendments. While 32 political parties support it, significant opposition exists. The government must collaborate with non-NDA parties to secure a two-thirds majority in both houses of Parliament.
