A community in Fairfield County is mourning the sudden death of a high school student-athlete.Elliott Kropf, a senior who attended New Canaan High School, died on Saturday night, Sept. 14.

A New Canaan High School student died unexpectedly, the district said Sunday. In a letter to the community, Superintendent Bryan D. Luizzi confirmed the passing of Elliott Kropf, a senior at New Canaan High School.

All New Canaan High School sports events were postponed Monday following the death of 16-year-old Elliott Kropf, who played ice hockey.
