Road closures are part of the Denver Police’s safety plan for the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference at the Colorado Convention Center from Saturday to Tuesday.
A “No Kings” protest in downtown Denver is causing road closures and RTD service disruptions. The Denver Police Department said at 12:17 p.m. that Lincoln Street is closed at 14th Avenue and that additional road closures may occur in the area of the State Capitol Building.
Crowds are gathering and the Fort Collins "No Kings" protest is getting underway. The No Kings II Day protest, a sequel to a June 14 event, is billed by organizers as a peaceful rally for democracy and against authoritarian rule. It's taking place near Old Town, at Civic Center Park.
Malik Monk has worn No. 0 for his last three seasons with the Kings, while Doug McDermott took No. 7 last season. The franchise retired No. 4 in honor of Chris Webber in 2009. With those numbers potentially off the table, Westbrook went for No. 18 ahead of his 18th season in the NBA.
Saturday marks the second “No Kings” protest and the third mass movement against the administration this year.
