The history of Northern Ireland's troubles goes back basically as far as you want it to, but its origins hundreds of years ago shouldn't overshadow the fact that it's an intensely modern conflict that still rages even 27 years after the signing of the Good Friday peace accords in 1998.

Rory McIlroy is eager to get back to golf despite recently returning to Northern Ireland following his sensational victory at the Masters, with the British sporting icon seemingly determined to keep winning as he refuses to rest on his laurels.

McIlroy stepped off his private jet in Belfast last Friday to warm applause from a small crowd awaiting his arrival. The Augusta champion held his four-year-old daughter, Poppy, in one arm as he was greeted by security. But there was no sign of Stoll as part of the travelling party.
