Ole Miss football's coaches poll ranking is down after a road loss at Georgia in Week 8. Here's where Lane Kiffin's Rebels are in the rankings.

Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels (6-1, 3-1 SEC) will return to action in Week 9 for a Top-25 matchup against John Mateer and the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman. After dropping the program's first matchup of the season in Week 8, Kiffin and Co. will press the reset button and gear up for another challenging SEC road game.

Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin did not want to elaborate on the topic of Florida's coaching job opening and his name being bandied about.

Kiffin is 5-6 against top-10 ranked teams at Ole Miss, although he has won three of his last four such games, dating back to the Rebels' Peach Bowl win over Penn State in 2023. Moreover, he is 4-4 against top-10 opponents when the Rebels are also ranked.

Though Georgia's defense got tossed around for a majority of its Week 8 game against Ole Miss, the Bulldogs buckled down and made the stops they had to to secure a 35-33 win against the Rebels. After surrendering a touchdown on each of Ole Miss' first five drives, the Bulldogs did not let Ole Miss score in the fourth quarter.

Lane Kiffin and Co. remain firmly in the College Football Playoff race, looking to make a statement in Week 9.
