After hours of literally nothing but shots of chairs, Marvel’s big Avengers: Doomsdaycasting announcement ended with an appearance by Robert Downey Jr., who’s returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after five years of “retirement” to play the new Doctor Doom in the film.

Hot on the heels of announcing a further 26 cast members for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel and Robert Downey Jr. have teased they’re not done yet. Yesterday, Marvel announced the cast of Avengers: Doomsday via a lengthy livestream that confirmed a long list of actors set to join Robert Downey Jr.

"Avengers: Doomsday" finds brothers Joe and Anthony Russo back in the directors chairs. They return to Marvel having helmed the Captain America films "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War," as well as "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame."
