The National Women’s Soccer League said Friday that a game between Angel City and the Utah Royals should not have continued after defender Savy King collapsed on the field and had to be hospitalized.

"We're human beings, and this is a simple matter of humanity," NWSLPA head Meghann Burke told the Attacking Third podcast

After receiving criticism for finishing a match last week despite Angel City FC defender Savy King collapsing on the field, the NWSL announced Friday that it has changed its protocols for similar situations in the future.
