The Seattle Kraken blue line will get a boost after allowing eight goals to the San Jose Sharks with the return of their highest-paid player, Vince Dunn.

Jake Walman scored twice and Macklin Celebrini had a goal and an assist as the San Jose Sharks defeated the visiting Seattle Kraken 8-5 Friday afternoon in the opener of a home-and-home series between the Pacific Division rivals.

The teams will have back-to-back home and home games, first facing off in San Jose Friday afternoon, before returning to Seattle for a Saturday night game.

Granlund will participate in pregame warmups Friday before a decision is finalized on whether he’ll play against Seattle in the season’s first meeting between the two teams. The Kraken (11-11-1) have won six of its last nine games and enter Friday two points out of a playoff spot.
