The first round of July’s Social Security payments, worth up to $5,108 for the highest-income earners who retire at age 70, will be distributed in six days.

Regular Social Security retirement benefits for the month of July will be sent out on the SSA’s usual schedule: Wednesday, July 9: Birth dates between the first and 10th of the month. Wednesday, July 16: Birth dates between the 11th and 20th of the month. Wednesday, July 23: Birth dates between the 21st and 31st of the month.

In July, 50% of a person’s check will be withheld by the Social Security Administration if it issued an overpayment to them in the past. This effort is made through the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) which withholds the money until repayments are made.
