These areas are likely to bear the brunt of the weather system. The storm’s proximity is expected to bring intense rainfall to the Delta region, which could result in localized flooding and waterlogging.

The system is expected to develop into a cyclonic storm within 24 hours, with potential landfall along Tamil Nadu's coast by the end of the week.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a cyclone alert for Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as Cyclone Fengal approaches. Residents brace for heavy rainfall and possible damage to crops from November 27 to November 30.

Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is forecast over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh between November 27 and 29. Strong winds, ranging between 45-55 km/h with gusts up to 65 km/h, are likely along the affected coasts. Additionally, rough seas may lead to flooding in low-lying areas and disrupt marine activities.

IMD has issued a red alert for Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur and Mayiladuthurai districts and the Karaikal area on November 26, with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in many places across these four districts. On November 27, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore and the Karaikal area have been issued a red alert.
