The Toronto Maple Leafs have struggled offensively and a trade pitch has them acquiring Ryan Strome from the Anaheim Ducks.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in trading recently acquired former San Jose Sharks defenseman Matt Benning.

Earlier this week, the Maple Leafs acquired veteran blueliner Matt Benning as part of the return in the trade that saw blueliner Timothy Liljegren move to San Jose. However, it doesn’t appear as if he’s in Toronto’s plans.
