In a dramatic shift in transatlantic relations under President Donald Trump, the United States has split with its European allies by refusing to blame Russia for its invasion of Ukraine in votes on three U.

The U.S. is lobbying countries around the world to oppose a resolution brought forward at the U.N. General Assembly by Ukraine and European countries.

On the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the U.N. General Assembly is expected to vote on dueling resolutions.
