Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is one of the most heralded players in NHL history. The legendary forward already has a ton of records on the NHL history books, but there's one more still to go that could put him in the pantheon of all-time greats.

Ovechkin scored with 53 seconds remaining in the first period, taking a centering pass from Martin Fehervary and flicking it past Ivan Fedotov.

With Washington back in front, Charlie Lindgren had to come up with some key stops, and he did just that, flashing the glove and showcasing his finesse and athleticism with a big pad save in the final seconds to secure the win. He finished the night with 18 saves on 21 shots.
