According to the ABS, the average waist measurement for an Australian woman in 2022 was 91cm. When compared to a size chart, this means the average Australian woman is between the sizes of 16 and 20.

With many Australian brands only producing up to size 16, it means that 37 per cent of women can rarely shop in stores, and another 15 per cent are on the cusp and may struggle.
