A day after two brothers were mauled by a grizzly in Yellowstone, a dimwitted tourist was spotted five feet from a bear taking video on his phone.
ABC News reported that another hiker, Craig Lerman of Maryland, came upon the aftermath after noticing at least two sets of claw marks, then spotting a bloody hat and a torn-off watch near the trail. He soon heard one of the injured hikers calling for help.
The bear management area was decommissioned ‘due to fewer ungulate carcasses and wildlife conflicts,’ Park Service officials announced two years ago.
