Hungary has passed a law banning Pride marches held by the LGBTQ+ community, sparking outrage in and out of the country. Parliament voted for the measure just a day after the bill was submitted on Monday,

Thousands protested the ban outside Hungary’s Parliament, blocking traffic and defying police orders to disperse.

The law, supported by Orbán’s Fidesz party and their minority coalition partner the Christian Democrats, was pushed through parliament in an accelerated procedure after being submitted only a day earlier.
