Ukraine's parliament on Tuesday passed a law that allows the state nuclear power operator to buy two Soviet-designed nuclear reactors from Bulgaria for Ukraine's Khmelnytskyi power plant, lawmakers said.

Ukrainian lawmakers approved a bill to complete two additional reactors at the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant in the country’s west, paving the way for their purchase from Bulgaria to be finalized.

Ukraine's parliament voted in favor of buying two Russian-made reactors from Bulgaria for the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant, lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak said on Feb. 11. President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the lawmakers last week to approve the project,

"The government has launched the 'Great Atomic Theft' to spend $1 billion on a Russian reactor. Now tens of billions from raising tariffs for you and the entire population will go somewhere to Bulgaria to buy Russian reactors,
