It was back in 2021 that actor Kevin Costner famously emerged from the cornstalks at a specially constructed diamond at the "Field of Dreams" movie site and led the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees into the stadium for what turned out to be one of Major League Baseball's most memorable events.

The second MLB game in Dyersville occurred in 2022 between the Cubs and the Reds. There hasn't been a game played at the Field of Dreams since, so next year's matchup will end a four-year drought. In that span, the grounds were sold to new owners and were under construction for the addition of new Little League fields.

According to reports, the 2026 MLB schedule will be released on Tuesday and it is expected to include a matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and N.Y. Mets at the Field of Dreams in Iowa.
