I have not read all posts in this thread, but I thought I would point out that there is an abundance of kits for around 10 dollars that allow you to fix your RROD xbox. Bought mine on ebay for 9 ...
Or, you know, send it to MS for a fix and keep your warranty. 3 years for RROD means everyone is still under warranty at this point.
