Tropical Storm Bertha continued its slow slog toward the Gulf Coast on the afternoon of July 21, forecasters from the National Hurricane Center announced.

A Gulf disturbance could bring days of heavy rain and flooding to Florida and the Southeast as the Atlantic season stirs.

The National Hurricane Center said on Friday that there was a low chance of a tropical depression developing in the Gulf in the next few days. Forecasters expect an area of low pressure to form this weekend over the northeastern Gulf.
