Travis Kelce turned back the clock for a vintage performance, making six catches for 99 yards and a touchdown. Patrick Mahomes doubled his interceptions this season with two in the first half, but made up for it with three touchdown passes in the second half.
For better and worse, the Chiefs showed how overpowering—and underwhelming—they can be in their 28–7 bulldozing of the banged-up Commanders.

Entering Week 8, Kansas City ranked sixth in points per game, which would be the team’s best mark since 2022 when it finished first in scoring. Before this week’s slate of games, the Chiefs were fifth in yards per game, also their best since 2022.
