Microsoft has introduced a new AI tool it says has the ability to meet the “gold standard” of malware detection, identification, and classification.

Microsoft reported that initial tests of Project Ire have shown promise, and the prototype will be used within Defender’s organization for threat detection and software classification.

Microsoft has revealed its involvement in several collaborations with scientists to help fight or, as it puts it, "solve" cancer using artificial intelligence.
