McDowell County resident Gary McNeely took home a nice lottery win recently, and he picked up his winnings in Raleigh.

A North Carolina car salesman said he was “excited as a banjo” after he won $100,000 from a scratch-off ticket. According to North Carolina Education Lottery officials, Gary McNeely, a car salesman living in McDowell County claimed the prize on Tuesday.

“I did about three or four takes,” Hinnant told the North Carolina Education Lottery in an Oct. 20 news release. She wasn’t the only person who had trouble grasping the six-figure prize. “I called my mom and said, ‘I think I won,’” Hinnant told lottery officials. “She was in disbelief .”

Oscar Rosales was having a normal Saturday until a $20 scratch-off won him a $100,000 prize. After his trim, he needed cash to pay his barber so he stopped at Lighthouse Food Mart on Holloway Street in Durham. He added a $20 Ruby Red 7’s scratch-off during his stop.

Ray Walker recently won $1 million in the North Carolina Lottery after spending just $1 on the Cash 5 game. Walker revealed that he plans to put the money in the bank and perhaps travel to Florida to see family.
