Wembley Stadium which has a capacity of 90,000, but United's new ground is set to overtake it when it is built in the next few years. The new stadium will be next to the existing Old Trafford site, which will be demolished when the facility is completed.

Manchester United announce plans to build the biggest stadium in the UK - an "iconic" new £2bn 100,000-seater ground close to Old Trafford.

The decision has finally been reached to build a new 100,000 capacity stadium, replacing their 115-year Old Trafford home at costs forecast to reach £2billion ($2.59bn). Part owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe predicted it can “become the world’s greatest football stadium” and the first designs have shown the vast scale of United’s ambition.
