Aircraft charter operator Avia Solutions Group said Tuesday it placed an order with Boeing (NYSE:BA) for 40 737 MAX jets, with an option to order 40 additional jets, in an effort to meet continued strong demand for additional capacity from airlines.

Avia Solutions Group ordered 40 737-8 airplanes from Boeing with the potential to order 40 more, according to Boeing.

Avia Solutions Group, which leases aircraft and provides related services, has ordered 40 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets, with an option to order 40 additional jets, the companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday.
