Tropical Storm Fernand formed in the Atlantic on Saturday a few hundred miles south-southeast of Bermuda and is expected to continue to strengthen through Sunday while it travels generally

Fernand is moving toward the north near 15 mph, about 295 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. A north-northeastward motion at a gradually increasing forward speed is anticipated during the next couple of days, followed by a turn to the northeast.

Southeast of Bermuda, the low-pressure system with showers and thunderstorms became better organized throughout Saturday until officially becoming Tropical Storm Fernand.
