The Miami-based National Hurricane Center reported Fernand was located some 295 miles (475 kilometers) east of Bermuda by late Sunday afternoon.

Tropical Storm Fernand formed in the Atlantic on Saturday a few hundred miles south-southeast of Bermuda and is expected to continue to strengthen through Sunday while it travels generally

Tropical Storm Fernand is forming near Bermuda with 40 mph sustained winds. This storm will not make any impact on land as it stays out in the Atlantic. There’s another area we’re watching for development that’s currently about 200 miles east of the Windward Islands.
