California's Line Fire grows to 26,000 acres, more evacuations underway: See wildfire map
California Fire officials say the blaze is expected to grow significantly over the next two days and evacuation warnings have been sent out to communities in Green Valley Lake, north of Highway 18, as well as the communities of Cedar Glen, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, and Valley of Enchantment.
Update: 39,231.6 acres affected in San Bernardino County by Line Fire, still 51% contained
Line Fire initially started 6:33 p.m. Sep. 5 in San Bernardino County. It has burned 39,231.6 acres after being active for 13 days. A crew of 3,528 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 51% of the fire as of Wednesday evening. The fire is suspected to have been started deliberately.
The Line Fire destroyed a nearly 100-year-old fire lookout tower. The fire stands at 50% containment as of Wednesday.
