As per the National Hurricane Center's 5 pm Friday update, Category 4 Hurricane Kirk is 960 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and 1645 miles west-southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 130 mph. It’s moving 12 mph to the northwest.

Milton is forecast to rapidly intensify in the next couple of days in the Gulf of Mexico and become a major hurricane on Monday, forecasters said.

As per the National Hurricane Center's 11 am Saturday update, the Category 4 hurricane Kirk has weakened into a Category 3 hurricane. Category 3 Hurricane Kirk is 1040 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and 1525 miles west-southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 120 mph. It’s moving 16 mph to the north.

SURF: Swells generated by Kirk are spreading westward and are expected to reach portions of the Leeward Islands on Friday, Bermuda and the Greater Antilles on Saturday, and the east coast of the United States, Atlantic Canada, and the Bahamas on Sunday. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.

The National Hurricane Center’s 10 am Saturday advisory reported that the Category 4 hurricane Kirk has weakened into a Category 3 hurricane. Category 3 Hurricane Kirk is 1040 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and 1525 miles west-southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 120 mph. It’s moving 16 mph to the north.

While Hurricane Kirk is expected to stay over the Atlantic Ocean, impacts could be felt as far as the East Coast of the United States by Sunday.
