Air Canada and the union representing 10,000 flight attendants resumed talks late Monday for the first time since the flight attendants' strike began over the weekend.

The airline said it expected to resume some flight Monday night but the flight attendant’s union for the airline said that its workers will not return, defying federal return-to-work orders. Air Canada canceled hundreds of flights over the weekend after 10,000 flight attendants defied federal return-to-work orders amid a strike over fair pay.
