Florida State is in talks with Nebraska defensive coordinator Tony White to fill coach Mike Norvell’s vacant DC role, a person involved in the discussions told The Athletic on Monday.

Florida State has hired Tony White to be its defensive coordinator after he developed consecutive top-20 defenses at Nebraska.

The defensive line has been solid for Nebraska under White and Knighton with Ty Robinson developing into an NFL Draft prospect and setting career-high marks with 11 TFL and 6 sacks during the 2024 season. While it will be a nice addition for the Seminoles, it’s another tough blow for Rhule entering a pivotal offseason.
