If you thought the freezing rain was all done, think again. Iowans could encounter slick road conditions again this weekend.

The number of schools closed or in a delay number in the hundreds in northern Ohio thanks to the overnight freezing rain. Most Greater Akron schools are closed. including Cuyahoga Falls, Stow-Munroe Falls and Barberton. Kent State has canceled all classes scheduled before 10 a.m. Thursday on the main campus.

Hundreds of schools across southeast Michigan canceled classes Thursday as snow, sleet and ice were expected to continue to cause issues into the morning. From Bloomfield Hills to Dearborn, many districts preemptively said they would be closed Thursday. Oakland University and Oakland Community College canceled classes until noon Thursday.

More than a dozen schools across the Chicago area were on delayed starts or closed Thursday due to icy conditions on roads, streets and sidewalks. The closures and delays come hours after sleet, freezing rain,
